Being a part of a ministry that has been coming alongside families for over 30 years has been an eye-opening and life changing experience for me. I am humbled by the countless stories of the families who have been impacted by this ministry.
All of us depending on our experiences have received different “eyeglasses” or “filters” where we look and see life differently. These new “filters” influence the kind of decisions we make and the kind of people we want to be or not to be. One of the new filters I have received since coming here is a “family” filter. I am beginning to see everything through this filter that influences the kind of husband I want to be, the kind of dad my children need me to be as well as the kind of man my Heavenly Father demands of me.
The video “A Letter to Dad” captures the essence of seeing life with a different set of eyeglasses. As you watch the video I would encourage you to look at your life and see where your greatest felt needs or pain points are. Are you in need of some new eyeglasses or perspective? Isaiah 55:10-11, “For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.”
Being a dad provides the opportunity for a man to help give his family (spouse and children) a proper perspective on life. Just like our Heavenly Father has done for us.
